Jeff Burnett, Ali's Father Batman 39 I lost a son last year who I loved to bits, but had nothing but pride and admiration for the fight that he put up. I hope that his resolve and bravery will have rubbed off on me as I take on this challenge to raise vital funds for the brilliant children's ward at the Royal Marsden. |

James Battey, Ali's Uncle Mr Incredible 35 In memory or my brave nephew and his never-give-up attitude to raise much needed money to continue the fight against leukaemia. |

John Antoniades, Ali's Godfather Zorro 38 First and foremost, this ride is in honour of my amazing Godson Ali. I want this ride to be the start of many charity events going forward to raise awareness and funds to support the selfless staff, nurses and doctors that provide such important care at hospitals like the Royal Marsden. |

Tim Wood, Friend Bicycle Repair Man (Monty Python) 37 I live next door to Ali, I have known him ever since Ali and his brother climbed over our fence on a Sunday morning and banged on our patio window when we were having breakfast. On the one hand I am riding to raise as much money as possible for the Royal Marsden in memory of Ali, on the other this is going to be a big challenge, a step into the unknown and a fantastic opportunity for 10 ~40year old to push themselves to the limit. Ali's legacy will be leaving us all fitter and healthier. |

Andy Hill, Friend Bananaman 42 Meeting Ali had a real impact, his strength and courage were amazing to behold. Being able to help others in a similar situation, making their lives a little easier and to support the great work carried out by the Royal Marsden is a huge incentive. I am also really looking forward to the challenge, we seem to have a great bunch of guys and I think it will be fun in a strange kind of way - as long as I start training harder, lay off the pies and eat more bananas!! |

Chris Nicoll, Friend The Thing 38 As a good family friend I couldn't think of a single reason in the world why anyone wouldn't do all they could in their power to do everything they could to help. |

Dave Cooper, Friend Cooperman (Russ Abbot) 38 Because it just seems absolutely the right thing to do; one of my endearing memories of Ali was of him tearing around on his three wheel scooter and it seems a fitting tribute to do something like this to raise much needed funding for the Royal Marsden. I briefly toyed with the idea of completing the trip on Ali's scooter but fortunately my alarm woke me up...... |

Ian Knowles, Friend Red Ranger 38 I am doing the ride for the Burnett family, the brilliant work that the Royal Marsden does and to do my bit to help beat all forms of Leukaemia. Every little helps. |

Pete Austin, Friend The Mighty Thor 42 In memory of a wonderful little boy whose short life should remind us all to be grateful for what we have and to get out there and do stuff. As for the Mighty Thor - the hammer may be heavy - but wearing a blonde wig and two weeks of pillaging was all the excuse I needed. |

Pete MacDiarmid, Friend Captain Underpants 45 Ali is my 6 year old son Finn's school friend ... also Ali liked to come to our house for his 'second breakfast' so we all came to love him. I am doing this ride because I like a challenge and it will raise funds for the Royal Marsden, where I know that Ali got the best care in the world. |
